| GRETTA RAYANNOUNCES DEBUT LONDON SHOWS
IN SUPPORT OF NEW SINGLE ‘DRIVE’
WINNER OF TRIPLE J’S ‘UNEARTHED HIGH 2016’
“An artist rapidly honing her craft” - Rolling Stone Australia “Gretta Ray writes better songs at 18 than you’ve written in your entire twenties, and people are starting to take notice” - Beat Magazine(AUS)   Australian singer-songwriter Gretta Ray today announces details of her debut UK shows. Taking place at the beginning of April, Gretta is set to play Communion’s monthly showcase at Notting Hill Arts Club on 2nd April before taking to the stage as part of Mahogany Music Club at King’s Head Members Club in Dalston on 4th April. Tickets for the Communion showcase are available from here while tickets for Mahogany Music Club are on sale from Thursday 16th March here.   Gretta’s debut UK shows are in support of her brand new single ‘Drive’. The finely crafted, hook-laden track was co-produced with Nashville based Australian Josh Barber (Goyte, Archie Roach) and award winning composer Jonathan Dreyfus. Gretta won triple j’s ‘Unearthed High’ competition in 2016 and subsequently saw ‘Drive’ reach #27 in triple j’s ‘Hottest 100’ last year - the highest debut by any ‘Unearthed High’ artist in history.   Described by Beat Magazine (AUS) as ‘the new face of Australian songwriting’, Gretta displays a talent far beyond her years, influenced in part by growing up on a musical diet of artists such as James Taylor & Joni Mitchell. Aside from her success with triple j, ‘Drive’ also won the 18-year-old the Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition at the tail end of last year - an amazing feat considering Gretta only released her debut EP ‘Elsewhere’ at the beginning of 2016.   Full 2nd April – Communion @ Notting Hill Arts Club 4th April – Mahogany Music Club @ King’s Head Members Clubs |
